Functions of Proxy Servers
In a network of computers, a proxy server is a type of server that acts between the source computer of the user and gets the information from the other computers
There are certain programs that will permit the network applications to perform its function when the same is not supported to work through the proxy server or with HTTP or SOCKS or even a chain of the proxy servers. There are various network applications which will not allow to work through the proxy servers and thus it cannot be used behind the firewall or the LAN. The corporate privacy can be compromised by these and thus lead the user to various restrictions. Under this situation, the programs will solve all the problems and allow the user to work with their favourite software without any limitations. In addition to the above those programs also give the user to have more control over the security of the network by creating a proxy tunnel and the power of the functionality of the network is also increased.
With those program, a person will be allowed to work with any of the clients on the internet like FTP, Bit Torrent, IRC, messengers, SSH, video games, audio games and telnet with their network that are separated by a firewall from the internet. The requirement is only the open port for the proxy tunnel to just bypass the firewall.
The programs will also give the user more privacy in all his activities on the internet. For example, he can send and receive the mails either with the help of the proxy server or by joining together the various proxy servers.
